Diary: Mark Borkowski gets intimate with 455,477 Marie Claire readers

Spring may not yet be in the air, but romance certainly is - at least for PR’s leading lights.

Spring may not yet be in the air, but romance certainly is - at

least for PR’s leading lights.

On the one hand, we have hotly denied rumours that Labour’s most famous

bachelor, shadow Chancellor Gordon Brown, is to tie the knot with Sarah

Macaulay, co-founder of Hobsbawm Macaulay Communications.

Business being what it is, Macaulay wasn’t available for comment but, it

seems, she met up with Brown at one of HMC’s sparkling Opposition

fundraising affairs.

Meanwhile, Mark Borkowski and wife Kate have not been getting weekday

work-related separations get them down and have been spilling the beans

about their weekend ardour to Marie Claire.

’In our case absence really does make the heart grow fonder ... Lots of

intimate moments seem to tumble into each other, and it’s the

spontaneity that makes it exciting. It’s the perfect framework for

romance.’ Mark confides, before going on to some rather saucy stuff.

However, ever the pro, Borkowski, doesn’t let romance turn his business

head.

Within the cute photograph of the couple (who are snuggled beneath a

blanket, before an open fire at their Gloucestershire cottage, while

candles burn merrily beside discarded clothes and glasses of wine) there

are apparently no less than three plugs for Mark Borkowski PR clients.
