APCO Worldwide appoints Chris Steel as London office associate director

IBM UK's head of press and public relations Chris Steel has joined APCO Worldwide as an associate director in the London office.

Steel was with IBM for eight years, including a three-year assignment in its New York office. He was responsible for handling all UK communications issues, leading the in-house team.

Prior to his work at IBM, Steel was media relations head at PWC Consulting. He also worked for two years as a senior account manager at Beattie Media in London.

Steel reports to APCO EMEA executive director Edward Walsh, who also formerly worked at IBM, as director of corporate communications for IBM France Northwest Africa.
