Hill & Knowlton EMEA CEO Sally Costerton to chair PRCA

The PRCA has appointed Hill & Knowlton EMEA CEO Sally Costerton as vice-chairman, assuming the chairman's role in mid-2010.

She replaces Carrot Communications CEO Richard Houghton, who becomes president of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) on 1 January. His aim is to drive the PRCA's international profile.

Costerton said of the challenges facing the industry: ‘We must anchor PR's role in the digital world while leading the debate on the core issue of sustainability. We need to have the courage to shed a skin and emerge from the recession more confident about the real value we deliver.’

Ketchum Pleon president David Gallagher remains as chairman and GolinHarris co-managing director Matt Neale remains treasurer.
