DIARY: This shameless publicity stunt ...

This shameless publicity stunt, at Lloyd’s of London, is the work of insurance broker rebel Simon Burgess, MD of specialist insurance firm Grip, who persuaded his PA to reveal her birthday suit to promote its professional insurance cover. The self-appointed PR man has also notched up column inches for his policy for prostitutes, ecstacy users and - wait for it - people abducted by aliens. ‘We enjoy our press cuttings book,’ says Burgess. ‘Maybe I should get into PR?’ Peter Hill, Lloyd’s head of corporate communications had other ideas: ‘Clearly the recent hot weather has played a part in the latest opportunistic publicity stunt in which Mr Burgess appears to specialise and which we deplore absolutely. We suggest he takes a firmer grip on his company’s promotional acitivities.’ Oo-er.
