Fergus Wylie, head of Citigate’s PR operation in South Africa, who
is joining London agency Cubitt Consulting in June (PR Week, 9 April),
doesn’t do things by halves.
Not only is he changing country, home and employer over the next two
months, but just to make things easier, he has decided to squeeze in
getting hitched, too.
He returns to the UK later this month, and will spend two weeks at
Cubitt until his wedding in early May.
Then it’s off on honeymoon with his wife to be, Alexis, to Ireland and
then somewhere more exotic, and finally back to Cubitt on 1 June.
’I was keen to get the wedding done before starting work proper with
Cubitt,’ he says, pragmatically.
Although Wylie is sitting among packing cases as we speak, he still has
to find time to spend five days presenting Cubitt to merchant banks and
stockbrokers in South Africa before he leaves.
’I’m working harder than I have done in the last six months,’ says
Wylie, sounding not the least bit weary.
