PUBLIC SECTOR: Sowter on move as support group reorganises

The Muscular Dystrophy Group’s fundraising and communications director, David Sowter, has been promoted to the new post of regional director for the South East. The group is seeking to replace Sowter, who reported to executive director Tony Lee. Sowter’s post was one of four regional directorships created in a reorganisation of the group, which took effect from 1 April this year. Sowter oversees a team of 14, who work across communications, corporate fundraising, branch support and direct mail. The group funds research into muscular dystrophy, which covers a range of conditions which weaken and waste muscles, and provides welfare services for sufferers and their families.
