Brodeur Kohtes and Klewes, the IT arm of Germany’s number one

agency, has merged with IT and telecoms specialist Competitive

Communication.

The merger brings Brodeur Kohtes and Klewes’ staffing levels up to 25.

BKK and Competitive Communication already share IBM as a client.

Burkhard Bondel, founder of Competitive Communication, is the former

editor of business magazine Wirtschafts Woche. He will become joint

director of Brodeur Kohtes and Klewes with existing directors Peter

Gerdemann and Markus Hilse.

Omnicom, which owns Kohtes and Klewes, restructured its international

network of IT agencies to bring them under the Brodeur Porter Novelli

umbrella in October (PR Week, 17 October 1997). The network also

includes Brodeur A Plus (formerly A Plus).

Stan Wood, marketing director at Brodeur A Plus, oversees the strategy

and development of the Brodeur network. He says further acquisitions in

the technology arena are likely to follow.
