Macmillan Cancer Support tops PRWeek's Charity Brand Index

Macmillan Cancer Support has been voted the UK's number one charity by the public in research by PRWeek.

The cancer charity tops the inaugural Charity Brand Index, compiled in conjunction with PRWeek sister title Third Sector and market research agency Harris Interactive. The index ranks the UK's top 100 charities using measures including impression, trustworthiness and public perception. Cancer Research UK came second and the NSPCC was third.

Ian Barrow, from Harris Interactive, said: 'It is no longer enough to be recognised for the good work a charity does; this must be reflected by its brand, image and messages.'
