Diary: Arrow PR offers a rough guide to the city streets

The hi-tech sector has gone through a boom time lately and one

technology PR agency has decided to put something back.

Arrow PR is working with NCH Action for Children on its campaign to end

youth homelessness by the year 2000. Arrow managing director Ken Deeks

says: ’I was on the tube and saw an advertisement for the year 2000 and

like most people I immediately thought it was to do with the millennium

bug.’

The advertisement was in fact placed by NCH in an attempt to raise

awareness of its Youth 2000 campaign which aims to rehouse 250,000 young

people.

Deeks says: ’Sometimes we get obsessed by our own sad lives and don’t

think of other issues.’

Now Deeks is spearheading a mission to raise awareness and generate

funds in the IT sector for NCH. The charity is looking for IT companies

to plan sponsored events with staff and customers or provide hard cash

donations.

Deeks might have more trouble attracting support for another idea - he’s

looking for directors of IT companies to spend the night living rough on

the streets of UK cities to raise awareness of the plight of the

homeless.

So if you fancy a night in a cardboard box with Bill Gates and Larry

Ellison then get in touch with Deeks at Arrow.
