BORDER LINES: PARIS: Michel-Villaz on line for Siemens

Siemens France, the French affiliate of the German-owned electronics giant, has appointed Eric Michel-Villaz as its director of communication. Michel-Villaz, 46, reports directly to Siemens France chief executive Michel Robin and oversees a ten-strong department covering internal and external communications. He replaces Jacques Fay, who held the post for a year. The appointment is likely to lead to a review of Siemens’ communications function. The company does not currently employ public relations agencies on a retainer basis. Michel-Villaz joins Siemens from Miallot et Associes, a firm specialising in economic intelligence, where he was a consultant. He was previously director of communications for nuclear energy company Framatome.
