BORDER LINES: LONDON: New alliance for associations

Representatives of 16 national public relations associations representing individuals, including the IPR and the Public Relations Society of America, agreed in London last month to establish an international alliance. Unlike the International PR Association, which unites over 700 individual members, the alliance will represent national institutes and associations of individuals.

Representatives of 16 national public relations associations

representing individuals, including the IPR and the Public Relations

Society of America, agreed in London last month to establish an

international alliance. Unlike the International PR Association, which

unites over 700 individual members, the alliance will represent national

institutes and associations of individuals.

The alliance’s members want to establish international minimum

standards, such as common national association membership criteria and

PR diplomas.

IPR president Peter Walker said the alliance’s secretariat is likely to

be in the UK in the first instance.
