Clarkson moves to government relations at C&W

Jane Clarkson, head of public policy at UK cable operator Cable and Wireless Communications, has been promoted to the international government relations department of parent company, the Cable and Wireless group.

government relations department of parent company, the Cable and

Wireless group.



In the new post of government relations manager, which she takes up

early next month, Clarkson will report directly to Tom Phillips,

director of government relations. Her responsibilities include liaising

with other government relations managers in the 55 countries in which

Cable and Wireless operates as well as directly in countries in which

Cable and Wireless has a large scale presence.



Commenting on Clarkson’s appointment, Phillips said: ’Telecoms is

becoming increasingly competitive. Jane’s role is right at the centre of

telecoms development’.



Cable and Wireless Communications is seeking a replacement for Clarkson,

who was head of public policy since the company’s formation a year ago.
