Some chaps would be rather overawed at being PR adviser to the

Spice Girls - but not Julian Henry, Lynne Franks PR’s deputy managing

director.



For Henry, who was in New York last week with the girls, under the

auspices of Lynne Franks’ business with their label Virgin Records, has

himself drunk at the well of pop mega-stardom. He was, it seems, once

Very Big in Japan.



A Lynne Franks insider tells that, a few years back, Henry was lead

singer with a band called The Hit Parade. His combo stormed the Japanese

charts and Henry’s photo graced many an Asian TV show and pop

magazine.



My mole says: ’Julian’s a very talented guy - as well as being a good

singer he’s also a talented musician. He used to go off once a year to

tour with the band, which used to play mellow-poppy type stuff. Fan mail

would sometimes find its way to the office and every so often we’d get a

star-struck Japanese teenager waiting for him outside the building.’
