Le Fevre is challenging the ’frivolous’ fashion and beauty PR
industry with the creation of a subsidiary headed by the fashion
journalist Susannah Constantine.
The Oxford-based corporate and financial PR firm believes there is a gap
in the market for ’intelligent’ fashion and beauty PR.
Constantine, co-editor of the Daily Telegraph’s weekend fashion page and
presenter of Granada Sky Broadcasting’s fashion show Ready to Wear, will
work part time at Le Fevre’s Covent Garden office.
Moxham said the subsidiary will offer clients a longer term ’strategic
approach’ which is presently lacking.
’Most fashion houses just push products,’ said Moxham. ’There are so
many markets which they are not tapping into such as issues
Before she began writing, Constantine handled PR for a host of designers
and charities including Prada, Dolce and Gabbana and the British Brain
and Spine Foundation.
’I am in contact with all the fashion houses and beauty companies on a
daily basis,’ said Constantine. ’I am always referring them to PR
companies I thought maybe I should start one myself.’
The subsidiary will operate under the Le Fevre name but may re-brand in
the future. Constantine is using the agency’s existing team but is
considering hiring account manager or director-level staff.
