Le Fevre is challenging the ’frivolous’ fashion and beauty PR

industry with the creation of a subsidiary headed by the fashion

journalist Susannah Constantine.

The Oxford-based corporate and financial PR firm believes there is a gap

in the market for ’intelligent’ fashion and beauty PR.

Constantine, co-editor of the Daily Telegraph’s weekend fashion page and

presenter of Granada Sky Broadcasting’s fashion show Ready to Wear, will

work part time at Le Fevre’s Covent Garden office.

Moxham said the subsidiary will offer clients a longer term ’strategic

approach’ which is presently lacking.

’Most fashion houses just push products,’ said Moxham. ’There are so

many markets which they are not tapping into such as issues

campaigning.’

Before she began writing, Constantine handled PR for a host of designers

and charities including Prada, Dolce and Gabbana and the British Brain

and Spine Foundation.

’I am in contact with all the fashion houses and beauty companies on a

daily basis,’ said Constantine. ’I am always referring them to PR

companies I thought maybe I should start one myself.’

The subsidiary will operate under the Le Fevre name but may re-brand in

the future. Constantine is using the agency’s existing team but is

considering hiring account manager or director-level staff.
