BBC Clothes Show Live has handed its pounds 1 million marketing budget
to Shandwick-owned sister companies Prime Communications and TPS Public
Barker Brown, organiser of the UK’s fourth-biggest consumer show for BBC
Haymarket Exhibitions, selected Prime and TPS last week from an original
list of ten firms.
The brief covers PR and ‘promotions’ for Clothes Show Live, which is
held in Birmingham in December. It also includes PR for the Scottish
version, Clothes Show Scotland, to be staged in Glasgow in four months’
Prime and TPS PR, part of the TPS Group will run a PR campaign targeted
at the fashion, beauty and sports media. Although prestigious, the
account is thought to carry fees of under pounds 50,000.
The agencies will create high-profile national and regional promotions,
which may include the production of posters and leaflets, in a bid to
beat last year’s attendance figures of 200,000. They will also
communicate with the 500-plus exhibitors at the London and Glasgow shows
via the trade press and run a press office function at the events.
Clothes Show Live was previously handled by fashion PR specialist PR
Unlimited until MD Lisa Nelson decided to close the agency last year.
