BBC Clothes Show Live has handed its pounds 1 million marketing budget

to Shandwick-owned sister companies Prime Communications and TPS Public

Relations.

Barker Brown, organiser of the UK’s fourth-biggest consumer show for BBC

Haymarket Exhibitions, selected Prime and TPS last week from an original

list of ten firms.

The brief covers PR and ‘promotions’ for Clothes Show Live, which is

held in Birmingham in December. It also includes PR for the Scottish

version, Clothes Show Scotland, to be staged in Glasgow in four months’

time.

Prime and TPS PR, part of the TPS Group will run a PR campaign targeted

at the fashion, beauty and sports media. Although prestigious, the

account is thought to carry fees of under pounds 50,000.

The agencies will create high-profile national and regional promotions,

which may include the production of posters and leaflets, in a bid to

beat last year’s attendance figures of 200,000. They will also

communicate with the 500-plus exhibitors at the London and Glasgow shows

via the trade press and run a press office function at the events.

Clothes Show Live was previously handled by fashion PR specialist PR

Unlimited until MD Lisa Nelson decided to close the agency last year.
