HONG KONG: Asian conglomerate Jardine Matheson Group has split its

financial and corporate PR accounts between Forrest International and

Ludgate Asia.

Ludgate has handled corporate and financial PR for the group since 1987,

but Jardine has now decided to hand financial PR for its listed

companies to Forrest, leaving Ludgate with the corporate accounts for

these businesses.

Forrest started work last week. Fees are likely to surpass pounds

200,000 a year.

Forrest will handle financial announcements for Jardine Matheson,

Jardine Strategic Holdings and four listed companies owned by the group:

retail group Dairy Farm International; hotel chain Mandarin Oriental

Group; property developer Hong Kong Land, and car retailing group

Jardine International Motors.

The account will be headed by director David Dodwell, who joined last

year from Jardine’s investment banking group, Jardine Fleming. Forrest

won the work without a competitive pitch.

Ludgate’s London headquarters will still work on the account, as five

Jardine companies are listed in London.
