Fresh soup specialist The New Covent Garden Soup Company has
appointed 360¡ Communications as its PR agency, replacing seven-year
incumbent Phipps PR.
Jane Howard PR and Biss Lancaster also competed for the work, which
started on 1 January. The account carries a six-figure annual fee.
The change follows last autumn’s departure of original managing director
William Kendall, who left to launch a new venture - as yet
Phipps PR is said to be in the running to handle PR for Kendall’s new
business, which will launch later in 1999.
The PR brief is to build awareness of the soup brand across trade and
consumer media. A cookery book, Soup and Beyond, is scheduled for May,
and a national TV advertising campaign launched this week. The agency
will report to PR manager Katie Kime.
