PUBLIC SECTOR: Scottish land use body engages Reputation

The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute last week appointed public sector specialist Reputation on a project basis to advise it on how to communicate its value and relevance to the forthcoming Scottish parliament. The Government-funded body researches the sustainable environmental and socio-economic development of rural communities. It is presently 70 per cent funded by the Scottish Office, but will become dependent on the parliament for funds in future. ’We are entering a whole new world of communications with the parliament and we are determined that our voice will be heard,’ said external affairs officer Sue Bird. Reputation partner Mark Fletcher said: ’Initially, we will help them to devise a communications plan.’ The agency may then be kept on to help put the plan into practice.
