PUBLIC SECTOR: Mencap hunts internal comms manager

Mencap, which helps people with learning disabilities and is among the UK’s largest charitable employers, is recruiting to the new post of internal communications manager. The manager will oversee a team of up to four people and report to communications director Sarah Talbot-Williams. They will develop and implement a communications strategy targeting the charity’s 6,000-plus staff, 1,000 local groups and individual members - a new category of membership introduced last autumn. ’Mencap becoming an individual membership organisation has strengthened the need to draw together internal and external communications,’ said Talbot-Williams.
