Littlewoods has appointed Jim Donovan as group corporate affairs

director, to replace Gwen Gober who left in September.

Donovan will handle all corporate communications across the group,

heading a team of 10, which includes head of corporate communications

Stephanie Rintoul and community affairs manager Jerry Marston.

His responsibilities cover corporate media relations, internal

communications, community and public affairs and corporate

hospitality.

Donovan’s arrival comes in the middle of a major restructure for

Littlewoods.

The restructure has created two divisions. Retail encompasses Index,

Index Extra, Littlewoods stores, the digital shopping channel Shop! and

the Littlewoods catalogue. Leisure comprises the Pools, scratchcards and

sports phone betting service Bet Direct. The retail side was previously

run as separate companies with individual managing directors.

Managing the company’s internal communications programme will form a

large chunk of Donovan’s role. Gober left without announcing her future

plans.
