Cohn and Wolfe has hired former assistant editor and head of sport at the Daily Mail, Vic Robbie, as a media consultant.

at the Daily Mail, Vic Robbie, as a media consultant.



Robbie has been brought in to help the agency’s clients develop their

media strategies, which will initially include helping to prepare a

series of client seminars on the media.



Working on a part-time basis alongside consumer and sports director

Graham Fleet, he will spend the majority of his time with the agency’s

ten-strong sports division. The agency managed World Cup sponsorship PR

for Coca-Cola, Braun shavers, sportswear brand Reebok and business

equipment firm Canon.He will divide the rest of his time between the

corporate, healthcare, consumer and technology divisions, helping teams

when they need specific advice, and will help foster the agency’s media

contacts.



Robbie joins the agency with 20 years experience as a national print

journalist behind him, including positions as sports editor at the

Independent, Independent on Sunday and Scotland on Sunday. He owns

sports publisher RR Publishing which specialises in sports titles and

recently produced and edited the Lawn Tennis Association’s Yearbook In

addition to his new post, he will continue to write for a number of

publications.



’I am looking forward to taking a hands-on approach and getting involved

with all aspects of the agency’s media relations from idea generation to

preparation of ideas and features, and the placing of stories,’ said

Robbie.
