Glasgow-based Scribe Marketing and Communications has won work

carrying a five-figure fee from IT company Sun Microsystems.

Sun already uses DPA Corporate Communications in England but the company

wanted to use a Scottish agency to promote one of its factories near

Linlithgow.

John Tutcher, head of PR and corporate affairs at Sun, said the company

wanted an agency with particular knowledge of the Scottish press and

which could work closely with people at the factory.

Scribe won the work in a three-way pitch. The agency will handle both

consumer and business-to-business PR, working mainly through media

relations to emphasise the Linlithgow plant’s importance to Sun.

’We haven’t done a very good job of getting out (that message) and we

hope to do a better job. Scribe is part of that,’ said Tutcher.
