DIARY: A Plus staff will never be accidental heroes

There are no excuses for being late for work in the fast lane of hi-tech PR, as A Plus’s newest account executive Sue Kewley discovered last month.

There are no excuses for being late for work in the fast lane of hi-tech

PR, as A Plus’s newest account executive Sue Kewley discovered last

month.

Speeding down the M40 in her Peugeot 106 one morning to the agency’s

Slough HQ, Kewley became involved in a rather nasty accident involving

two other cars.

A bad enough experience for anyone, you might think. But imagine the

added pain of seeing not just one but two of your colleagues drive past

without even stopping.

First Samantha Lucas sped past in her Peugeot 306, followed seconds

later by fellow account director Stephen Waddington in his Terrano.

It wasn’t until Kewley was being carried on a stretcher into a waiting

ambulance that eagle-eyed account executive Bridget Fishleigh noticed

that the crushed car was one of A Plus’s very own and stopped.

Not that the firm’s staff are insensitive, says director Jonathan

Simnett. It’s just that they have a lot on their minds when driving to

work.

As for Kewley, she thankfully escaped with just a few bruises and

whiplash. Two days later she was back at her desk. Who says PRs are a

bunch of slackers?
