EUROPE: Warner Bros Consumer Products has brought in youth and
entertainment specialist The Wright Partnership to conduct a trade and
consumer awareness campaign for its products across the UK, Europe,
Africa and the Middle East.
The Wright Partnership has been briefed to develop a European PR
strategy and implement it in the UK, for Warner Bros’ major brands which
include Looney Tunes, Baby Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo,
Batman and Superman.
The account was awarded following a four-way pitch and the fee for the
European activity runs into six figures. The Wright Partnership will
work closely with Warner’s agencies Asesores 2000 in Spain and
Pro.Motion in Germany.
The Wright Partnership is kicking off with a campaign to promote Tom and
Jerry across Europe, initially aimed at trade publications, retailers
and current and potential licensees, and leading into a consumer
campaign in 1999.
’We want to create demand for the products so that licensees can be
confident they can sell them,’ said agency partner Sara Stewart.
In March Warner Bros signed an exclusive deal with Mothercare to sell
its latest range of Baby Looney Tunes baby wear.
Warner Bros Stores are a separate division of the company and are not
included in the account.
