Inchcape, the international distribution firm which is in the

process of demerging, is seeking a head of investor relations for its

motor business, which distributes car parts.

Currently Inchcape’s investor relations is handled by IR manager Bridget

Walker who reports to group corporate affairs director Paul Barber. The

new, more senior, position reports directly to finance director Les

Cullen.

Walker will stay at the company with Barber and his team until the

demerger process is completed next year. Barber has announced his

intention to leave following the demerger (PR Week, 13 Mar). Walker

said: ’My role is to work with Paul on the communications effort for the

breakup of the business. We want someone to come in and concentrate on

the future of the motors business.’

Walker said she saw her future outside investor relations in the

communications department of a larger company.

The demerged motor distribution company will be the largest of three

companies formed from the break-up of Inchcape. The other two businesses

created will be a bottling services company based in Chile and a

worldwide marketing services company.
