The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) has picked

Warwickshire-based agricultural specialist Pharo Communications to

handle its public relations and promotional activity.

The association did not have an incumbent agency and the appointment

followed a six-way competitive pitch.

The agency will kick off with a campaign to attract more members to the

association. BETA represents individuals and businesses with an interest

in the equestrian world, such as saddlers, feed merchants and horse

breeders.

It currently has 540 members and campaigns on safety issues.

Pharo Communications will also be co-ordinating the press office at the

annual BETA trade Fair held at the Birmingham NEC.

The account will be lead by agency MD Sarah Pharo. Other equine clients

include horse worming treatment Equalan, Equinn feed supplements and

Petplan Equine insurance.
