The PRCA has increased its membership from 133 to 171 over the last

two years and has hired an additional director to keep pace with

growth.

The increase in membership, of 28.5 per cent, has led to the appointment

of Damian Beeley, who is former deputy business editor of the Asia

Times.

Beeley becomes deputy director at the PRCA, with special responsibility

for member services.

Beeley brings the PRCA’s team to six, double its size in 1996. He

reports to Chris McDowall, who remains in his position as executive

director of the PRCA.

McDowall said: ’The business of the association has grown considerably

in recent years, particularly with the inception of consultancy

management standards, PReview and other initiatives.’

As well as dealing with the increased membership of the PRCA Beeley will

also help to develop its latest services and initiatives. These include

its recent benchmarking study, and PReview, a pitch list service for

agencies and clients. The PRCA is also engaged in a general drive to

increase standards of training and management across consultancies.
