PUBLIC SECTOR: Birmingham Airport promotes Conway

Brian Conway has been promoted to the role of head of external relations of Birmingham International Airport. The appointment comes in the wake of the merger of the airport’s public, media and political relations departments. Conway, previously the airport’s public affairs manager, was appointed to the new position last week. ’The Eurovision song contest and the G8 summit in May this year had a big impact on the airport and we have decided to merge a number of departments to make us more effective,’ he said. Overseeing a team of five, he will report to director of business development Peter Vella.
