Hasbro UK is drawing up a shortlist to appoint a new PR agency.

Mark Borkowski Press and PR has handled the brand for the past four

years but Hasbro has decided to bring in a new agency on the

account.

In a statement Borkowski said both the agency and Hasbro felt it was

appropriate point to end the relationship. Borkowski will concentrate on

its client base while Hasbro will seek a new agency to build on the PR

work already completed.

The new agency will also be required to promote the new Transformers

toy, Beast Wars, and toys from the film Star Wars.

Hasbro PR account manager Keeley-Ann Stent said: ’We have started the

process now and aim to have a shortlist by mid-January.’

The action toy market was worth around pounds 138 million in 1998,

according to survey company NPD, and Hasbro estimates that Action Man

has a 50 per cent share of that market.

P The London Arena has hired Mark Borkowski Press and PR to help

relaunch the entertainment and sports venue following its pounds 8

million summer refurbishment.

Borkowski was awarded the retained account this week and will target

consumers and the business community to raise the venue’s profile.

Annual fees are understood to amount to a six-figure sum.
