Band and Brown is also handling the PR for the event and is attempting

to attract both participants and corporate donors. Harper and Band both

have powerful 900cc bikes but will have to sacrifice their own

turbo-charged beasts for 350cc Enfield Bullets for the India trip next

January.

Band admits that the 1,500 km rally will be tough. ’They recommend that

we start training in November,’ he groaned. ’The hardest part is

building up the muscles in your bottom.’

I wish Harper and Band the best of luck and hope that they are not too

saddle sore when they return. According to Seymour Thistlethwaite, a

director of Global Cancer Concern, our intrepid bikers will face a few

problems before they can even think of returning home: ’The riders will

venture into areas that have rarely, if ever, been explored by

tourists,’ he told me. Watch out for those tigers.
