DUBLIN: Public affairs consultancy GJW has opened its first Ireland

office and appointed Cathy Reynolds as director of communications,

Ireland.

Reynolds, whose father is former Fianna Fail Taoiseach Albert Reynolds,

will be based in Dublin. Her brief is to develop new business as well as

working with existing GJW clients with Irish interests.

She will cooperate closely with GJW’s existing offices in London,

Edinburgh, Brussels, Budapest, Prague and Warsaw. GJW Ireland aims to

extend its range of services beyond public affairs to corporate PR and

syndicated research services.

Before joining GJW, Reynolds worked for paper packaging group Jefferson

Smurfit. She was previously an intern at the European Commission’s

regional policy and cohesion directorate and also worked for an EU

tender monitoring consultancy specialising in the transport, planning

and engineering sectors.

Wilf Weeks, GJW chairman, said: ’This completes the GJW picture. There

are clients who have been asking us for help in Ireland and clients not

on our books who we know we can help there.’
