Hogarth Partnership wins Ultra Electronics, Bell Pottinger helps BAA Gatwick sale.

Ultra Electronics, the FTSE 250 aerospace and defence firm, has handed its retained financial PR account to the Hogarth Partnership. The Hogarth team will be led by partner John Olsen and associate director James White, who previously advised the company when he was in a similar role at Weber Shandwick Financial. WS Financial was the incumbent on the account and Hogarth won it without a competitive pitch, following White's move to his new role in October. Hogarth will work alongside Susan Ellis, senior comms adviser to Ultra, who herself was previously chairman of WS Financial.

Bell Pottinger Corporate & Financial and The Altitude Consultancy worked on the deal that saw BAA finally sell Gatwick Airport to Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) for £1.51bn. GIP, which already owns London City Airport, will spend a further £900m to refurbish the airport.

Xchanging, the FTSE 250 global business processor, has switched its retained financial PR adviser to Cardew Group from Tulchan Communications. MD Rupert Pittman is running the account. The agency will look to strengthen the firm's reputation with stakeholders as one of the largest and fastest-growing business process outsourcing providers.

Penrose Financial has announced the launch of a consumer finance division headed up by associate director Leone Ward (nee Lewis). Ward has 12 years of experience working in PR and has worked at consumer agencies in the UK and Australia. Ward said: 'This initiative will give us more time and resource to building our expertise in this area.'

ROPUK, an overseas property investment firm, has brought in the Wriglesworth Consultancy as its retained PR adviser. The agency won the account following an informal agency review. It will be charged with raising ROPUK's profile, focusing on both trade and national media.

Barbican Insurance, the insurance and reinsurance underwriting firm, has handed Pelham its media relations account. Damian Beeley, who leads the agency's insurance practice, will oversee the account.
