The Hogarth team will be led by partner John Olsen and associate director James White, who previously advised the company when he was in a similar role at Weber Shandwick Financial. WS was the incumbent on the account and Hogarth won it without a competitive pitch following White's move to his new role in October.
The key aspect of the brief will be to maintain the firm's high profile among key City audiences in the UK.
Hogarth will work alongside Susan Ellis, senior communications adviser to Ultra, who herself was previously chairman of Weber Shandwick Financial.
Andy Hamment, Ultra's group marketing director, said: ‘For the past four years James has worked alongside Susan Ellis to help build the company's profile within the City and we wanted to maintain access to this advisory team. I am sure that Hogarth's experience of advising FTSE250 companies, combined with its aerospace and defence credentials, will be of benefit to Ultra.'
Andrew Jaques, new managing partner at Hogarth, noted: ‘This is our 11th FTSE250 client and the 16th new client mandate we have won this year and we look forward to continuing this momentum in the final quarter of 2009."
Ultra Electronics focuses on aerospace and defence electronics and operates primarily in the battlespace IT, civil and military aircraft, sonar, transport and energy sectors.
