Masterfood turns to Consolidated for trade PR work

Consolidated Communications has won a trade PR account for Masterfood Services, the division of Mars UK whose brands include Uncle Ben’s rice, Yeoman instant mashed potato and Dolmio frozen, filled pasta.

Masterfood Services, the division of Mars UK whose brands include Uncle

Ben’s rice, Yeoman instant mashed potato and Dolmio frozen, filled

pasta.



The contract includes trade advertising and is worth pounds 200,000 in

total fees, of which PR accounts for about half. Consolidated was

appointed without a competitive pitch.



Account director Heather Butcher will lead the account. She joined the

agency last month from food specialist agency Merlin Publicity, which

previously held the Masterfood account.



Consolidated will first represent Masterfood’s brands at the Local

Authorities’ Caterers Association conference to be held in Brighton in

July.



Masterfood already uses Grayling for its corporate PR, while Ketchum

handles the company’s consumer brief.
