The Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) is seeking a

press chief as part of the restructure of its communications

department.

Until now, ATOC had a four-strong communications unit under

communications director David Campbell Bannerman, who handled PR,

government relations and policy and regulation.

ATOC has now split these functions into three units: government and

regional affairs, media relations and a new policy and regulation unit.

These will be headed by three new directors, all reporting to

association director George Muir.

ATOC is recruiting for the post of media relations director, who will

work with ATOC’s existing agency, Davies Communications. Campbell

Bannerman will head government and regional affairs as the unit’s

director. He is in the final stages of selecting a public affairs agency

(PR Week, 19 March). Former ATOC operations directorAlec McTavish will

head the policy and regulation unit.
