Toyota Motor Europe is investing in pan-European media analysis

through Computerised Media Services’ (CMS) system Precis.

London-based CMS beat a Belgian specialist in car industry media

analysis to win the six figure contract.

Toyota’s European arm has used Precis for the past three years to

monitor its coverage in the UK. Now the brief has expanded to cover the

key markets of Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

Fergus Hampton, managing director of Precis’ parent firm CMS said the

object of the brief was to provide Toyota’s Japanese headquarters with a

better understanding of the ’sensitivities’ in different markets.

Toyota will be Precis’ 16th automotive client. It won the Nissan

business at the beginning of the year and also works for BMW, Vauxhall

and Renault.

Precis was launched in 1988 and offers press and broadcast analysis,

produces reports and creates tailored databases to hold the press

cuttings.

The company has offices in Cobham, Hampshire, Melbourne, Madrid, Paris

and Frankfurt.
