Airports operator BAA is looking for a PR firm to work across all

its commercial property on an account expected to carry fees of well

over pounds 50,000 a year.

At present responsibility for commercial property PR is split between

corporate marketing and communications and a PR firm, McLean Aylwin

Communications.

The firm has handled PR for Lynton, BAA’s commercial property

development arm, for three years and will pitch for the new account

along with Scope Ketchum Communications.

The new brief will include PR for BAA’s own extensive property

portfolio, which includes shops, offices and warehouses with over 800

tenants, and which was previously handled in-house.

A BAA spokeswoman said: ’We are taking on an agency to look at the

entire remit for BAA’s property communications. Property is a major part

of our business and it is performing very well, but there isn’t enough

awareness in the market place of its success.’

Industry sources put the value of the Lynton account at more than pounds

40,000 a year and the combined business at more than pounds 50,000.

Another agency likely to be in the running for the account is PPR.

Managing Director Iain Taylor handled the Lynton account at Hudson

Sandler and at his former Cygnet Communications before it moved to

McLean Aylwin.
