The trade association for the six main gas and electricity suppliers to the UK market has restructured its comms and public affairs teams following the departure of head of public affairs Madeleine Hallward. Hallward left to become head of public affairs at NESTA in August.

The former head of comms and media relations Peter Jenkins will take over her responsibilities in a new position as head of comms and public affairs. Public affairs manager Peter Kocen will now report to Jenkins. Press officer Claire Gibson, who won this year’s CIPR young communicator of the year award, has also been promoted to media relations manager.

The ERA has just appointed Blue Rubicon following a six-way shortlist, to deliver its Home Heat Helpline winter campaign to consumers. The campaign kicks off in November, and aims to promote the help that is available from energy companies to vulnerable customers such as the elderly or people on low incomes.

The ERA will continue to work with existing agencies, The Big Partnership in Scotland and WEPR in Wales.
