TV production firm calls in Northern Lights PR to find programme contestants

A TV production company has called in Northern Lights PR to help it find contestants for Channel 4's Undercover Boss series.

Studio Lambert has asked the Harrogate-based PR agency to help find directors of large private or public sector businesses to go undercover in their own organisation.

It is being positioned as a good way for bosses to find out what grass root employees really think of their organisation and test the effectiveness of existing internal communications channels.

Two pilot episodes were broadcast in June, and Channel 4 has now commissioned six more programmes, and CBS in the US has ordered eight episodes to be shown early next year.

Studio Lambert’s CEO Stephen Lambert said: ‘For the chief executives it is a chance to remind themselves what it is like operating at grass roots.  All our CEOs say they would do this again, even without the PR value of the programme. We have appointed Northern Lights because we were impressed with their understanding of business issues and high level contacts.’
