Business-to-business PR agency Spada has appointed Philip

Hetherington to launch a management consultancy arm, Spada

Consulting.

Hetherington joins Spada after an informal six month collaboration

between Spada and his old consultancy PJR. Prior to PJR he worked as a

management consultant for 18 years. Hetherington would not disclose his

clients at PJR, but they have included an international consulting firm,

a building society and a healthcare body.

Spada Consulting already has three clients which Hetherington was

previously working on with Spada.

The new division aims to increase the amount of services the agency can

provide to senior management and professional firm partners.

’A charge often levelled at PR consultancies is that they are not

strategic enough, we are trying to do something about that by bringing

in this complementary service,’ said Gavin Ingham Brooke, Spada’s

managing director.

Prior to employing Hetherington, Spada used management consultants on an

ad hoc basis. Hetherington will report directly to Ingham Brooke.

Spada’s clients include track and station operator Railtrack, lift

manufacturer Otis, and City law firm Withers.
