Eurostar’s former UK PR chief Debra Aspin has been promoted to head

worldwide communications for Eurostar Group, which runs the train

service between London and Paris and Brussels.

Her move follows the creation of Eurostar Group last month. The group is

the London-based worldwide management structure representing Eurostar’s

three partner firms, France’s SNCF, Belgian SNCB and Eurostar UK.

In her new role, Aspin will be responsible for all Eurostar’s PR. Her

first task will be to assess the company’s communications needs and

devise an overall strategy for Eurostar. She is considering whether to

appoint a PR agency. Aspin reports to group chairman David Azema and

chief executive officer Hamish Taylor, who is also managing director of

Eurostar UK.

She will oversee five staff in the UK. She will also have dotted line

responsibility for similar sized teams at the headquarters of Eurostar’s

partner firms, SNCF and SNCB.
