The Sunday Business has appointed Vicky Hurley as its first

full-time PR manager.

Since the newspaper re-launched just over a year ago, MacLaurin

Communications and several freelancers filled the role on short-term

contracts covering events such as the newspaper’s post-relaunch

anniversary.

Hurley joins the Sunday Business after seven years with the Telegraph

Group, including the last three as senior PR executive. Her primary

brief is to raise the profile of the newspaper through TV, radio and

sponsorship.

Hurley will also be responsible for all aspects of internal and external

trade and consumer communications. She reports to managing director

Andrew Hart.

Relaunched in February 1998, the paper celebrated its highest recorded

sales figure in February 1999, with 56,065 copies sold.
