Two IT PR firms are taking legal action against a Year 2000 software manufacturer over unpaid bills.

Two IT PR firms are taking legal action against a Year 2000

software manufacturer over unpaid bills.

Both Shaw PR and Chaz Brooks Communications have issued county court

summons against Brighton-based Computer Experts claiming not to have

been fully paid for work carried out at the turn of the year.

Computer Experts, which manufactures a programme designed to test PC

hardware for the Millennium Bug, enlisted Chaz Brooks to undertake their

end-user PR and Shaw PR to cover the trade press.

’When we asked them to pay the bills, they claimed they had only agreed

to use us on an ad hoc basis,’ said George Shaw, managing director at

Shaw PR.

Computer Experts claims to have agreed a settlement by offering to pay

50 per cent of the disputed invoices. Shaw denies any such deal.

In response, Computer Experts is to counter-sue Shaw PR for

defamation.

Chaz Brooks Communications is also taking action after failing to reach

a compromise over fees.
