Energis, one of the UK’s four largest telecoms suppliers, has

appointed Cubitt Consulting on a pounds 250,000 fee account to support

its corporate communications.

The contract was awarded after a five-way pitch involving Bell

Pottinger, Marbles, Citigate Dewe Rogerson, and Financial Dynamics.

Cubitt replaces Kinross and Render, which after six years’ service

decided not to repitch.

Citigate Dewe Rogerson will continue to support the group’s financial

communications and investor relations requirements.

’This is a significant appointment which is consistent with our strategy

for high growth companies and market leaders in our core sectors of

media, telecoms, technology, finance, energy and utilities,’ said Simon

Brocklebank Fowler, managing director and founder of Cubitt.

Cubitt will support Energis’ plans to change its image from that of a

utility to a customer focused service organisation.

The brief is to provide strategic corporate communications consultancy,

brand positioning, national and trade media relations across the group’s

key business-to-business markets.

- Fergus Wylie, head of Citigate Dewe Rogerson’s eight-strong South

African PR business, is returning to the UK to join Cubitt Consulting.

Wylie will join Cubitt as a board director and equity partner. His

deputy and Citigate South Africa director Anne Van Den Heeden will now

head the PR division.
