Freud, Iris and The Red Consultancy are being considered for the brief issued by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), as part of its Youth Alcohol Action Plan.

A spokesman for the DCSF said the national campaign would 'help young people deal with situations where they may be tempted to drink alcohol for the first time'.

The winning agency will also tackle excessive drinking and equip parents to promote safe drinking to their children. The campaign, targeted at 13- to 16-year-olds, is expected to begin early next year.
