BORDER LINES: HELSINKI: Geelmuyden gets Finnish partner

Scandinavian PR firm Geelmuyden Kiese has formed an exclusive alliance with Finnish agency Pohjoisranta. The two agencies have not exchanged equity but will share clients in the Nordic region and hope eventually to merge. GK, which employs 170 staff, is run from Oslo in Norway and already has offices in Denmark and Sweden. Pohjoisranta was established in 1995, has six employees and a turnover of pounds 500,000 a year. Pohjoisranta chief executive officer Jouni Heinonen said: ’Businesses are merging across the region to compete in world markets and they want regional advice from their agencies.’
