Ireland’s state-owned gas company Bord Gais ƒireann is hunting for its
first retained domestic PR consultancy.
The Cork-based company, which supplies natural gas to 250,000 customers
across Ireland, has issued a public call for tender from Irish PR
agencies to assist its small in-house team of two.
PR manager Miriam Farrelly said that Bord Gais was looking for a
comprehensive support service covering strategic advice, consumer
relations, public affairs, events management and internal communications
for its 800 staff.
She added that Bord Gais had used consultancies on an ad hoc project
basis but was now seeking a longer term relationship. ‘The energy
business has become such a busy industry that we feel the need for added
expertise,’ she said. ‘You also get an extra resource in terms of ideas
as well as a fresh, unrehearsed viewpoint.’
