Sun Alliance’s direct insurance arm is meeting agencies next week as
part of a review of its public relations support.
Sun Alliance Connections, formed with the merger of the company’s UK
Direct general and life insurance operations, is believed to be
assessing written submissions from a number of agencies.
The agencies under review were selected from an earlier pool of firms
which were invited to submit brief credentials. As part of their written
proposals, agencies were asked to outline creative ideas, relevant case
studies and fee requirements.
Francesca Breeze, Sun Alliance Connections press and public relations
officer confirmed that the company was ‘reviewing operations’ but was
reluctant to go into detail. ‘We are looking at where we are with public
relations and where we want to go in the future. We may take on an
agency or we may not,’ she said.
She added that it was too early to confirm how many agencies Sun
Alliance Connections would see and whether it would be on a retained or
PR for the September launch, which focused on Sun Alliance Connections’
products and its ‘personalised’ approach, was handled by Brunswick,
which advises Sun Alliance on City and corporate public relations. The
