NEWS: Simmonds may join up with Galbraith at B-M

Former Market Access managing director Peter Simmonds may be joining his former colleague Jeremy Galbraith at Burson-Marsteller’s government and public affairs department.

Former Market Access managing director Peter Simmonds may be joining his

former colleague Jeremy Galbraith at Burson-Marsteller’s government and

public affairs department.

Simmonds is believed to be talking to B-M about joining as a consultant

to the department which is headed by Galbraith.

Simmonds left Market Access a year ago after an eight year stint at the

lobbying company. His departure was prompted by a disagreement over the

future direction of the company following its acquisition by advertising

and marketing group Omnicom.

Simmonds has been serving out a one-year gardening leave as part of his

severance package.

Galbraith, a former deputy MD at Market Access, was appointed head of B-

M’s government and public affairs division in May last year. He was

joined by former MAI colleague Sarah Walker and has since built up an

18-strong team. The department has just been appointed by the British

Olympic Association.

Neither Simmonds nor Galbraith, were available to comment and B-M would

not confirm it was talking with Simmonds.

Meanwhile, B-M’s government affairs department is looking for premises

in the Westminster area to set up satellite offices closer to

Parliament.
