NEWS: Bank of America hires Grice as comms head

Susan Grice has been hired as the first head of corporate communications for the Bank of America’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division.

Susan Grice has been hired as the first head of corporate communications

for the Bank of America’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division.

Grice’s brief includes media relations, sponsorship, corporate and

marketing publications, external events and internal communication. She

will head a two-strong team, including PR manager Ann Clay, and will

report to marketing director John Weguelin.

Grice’s appointment marks a drive to strengthen the bank’s profile in

the region and coincides with a vastly extended role for retained agency

Fleishman-Hillard.

Since February 1995, the agency has handled PR for the division’s global

capital markets business. It will now also handle the division’s two

other sectors: cash management and corporate finance.

Grice, who was formerly on a one-year secondment to the bank from F-H,

said: ‘There have been significant strides made over the past year and

it became obvious we should have a coherent corporate communications

strategy for the whole business.

‘We are retaining Fleishman-Hillard in the UK and are in the process of

setting up relationships with several of its European offices. We will

also be working with the agency on a project basis in a number of other

European locations.’
